Four custom matt-white fibreglass planters positioned on the Artarmon patio, before planting.
A considered landscape starts with proportions that suit the space. For this Artarmon project, Urban Pots Australia’s planter design brings together four custom fibreglass planter boxes in a crisp matt-white finish, with a consistent 800 mm height and a combination of square and rectangular forms.
The standout is a 4.175-metre-long rectangular planter. Paired with three complementary sizes, it demonstrates how made-to-measure planters can create a coordinated layout where standard pot dimensions may not suit the design.
Crane delivery and placement in Artarmon
Our team carefully craned the custom fibreglass planters from the road, reaching across the 15-metre patio to lower each piece into position. This included the 4.175-metre-long feature planter, bringing the scale of the design into focus during placement.

Four custom planters, one coordinated design
The Artarmon planter schedule comprises two rectangular and two square fibreglass planters. Each has its own proportions while sharing the same height and finish.
| Planter | Dimensions: L × W × H | Quantity |
|---|---|---|
| P1 — Rectangular | 2340 × 400 × 800 mm | 1 |
| P2 — Square | 1200 × 1200 × 800 mm | 1 |
| P3 — Long rectangular | 4175 × 435 × 800 mm | 1 |
| P4 — Square | 865 × 865 × 800 mm | 1 |
The narrow rectangular forms establish the long lines of the arrangement, while the square planters provide broader planting areas. Keeping all four at the same height gives the composition a consistent upper line, tying the different sizes together.
A 4.175-metre feature planter
At 4175 mm long and just 435 mm wide, the largest planter is the defining element of the project. Its elongated proportions make the planter itself part of the landscape’s geometry, rather than simply a container placed within it.
This is where custom planter boxes offer design flexibility: the length, width and height can be considered together to suit a particular layout. Here, the long rectangular planter works alongside a shorter 2340 mm planter and two square forms, creating a coordinated set without relying on identical modules.
For architects, builders and landscapers planning a similar project, the schedule illustrates why specifying all three dimensions matters. A planter’s width has just as much influence on its footprint and visual proportions as its overall length.

Matt-white finish with substantial rim detailing
The specified matt-white finish gives the four planters a clean, restrained appearance. It keeps the palette consistent across the arrangement and provides a simple backdrop for the eventual planting scheme.
Rim widths are specified at 80–90 mm generally, with selected narrow ends at 50 mm. These broader edges give the design a substantial architectural profile, particularly across the long rectangular planter.
Together, the finish, common height and rim detailing create a clear design language across all four pieces.

Made-to-measure planter boxes for Sydney projects
This Artarmon design shows how a small collection of custom fibreglass planters can address several different dimensions within one landscape layout. The design starts with the space and brings the planter sizes into alignment with it.
For projects in Artarmon, across Sydney’s North Shore and throughout Sydney, a clear planter schedule is a useful starting point. Drawings, dimensions, preferred finishes and site-access information help define the scope of a custom planter enquiry.
